| At the site level, our design creates a factory that is off-the-grid with not only electricty and water, but largely with fuel and food as well. A 150 sq. meter array of adjustable photovoltaic panels provides electricity to power the buildings throughout the year. A drainage system featuring a central retention pond and underground cistern captures and treats the region's ample rainwater to provide 100% of the factory's water demand. Bamboo charcoal is produced from on-site biomass for cooking, heating, and tempering fuel. Finally, visitors and workers are connected to their meals through acres of organic farmland that feed the cafe. |
